BIO1 is Biomapas’ early phase unit located in Lithuania’s leading Vilnius University Hospital, Santaros Clinics. Being located inside the hospital facilities, BIO1 has access to over 2,000 beds and approximately 1,400 investigators with various indication experiences to select from.
BIO1’s facilities offer a safe and comfortable environment for patients or healthy volunteers. It provides each customer with a project manager as a principal point of contact who oversees the process from recruitment to clinical study reports. The unit covers all types of early phase clinical studies, including first-in-human and proof-of-concept, single and multiple doses, bioequivalence, bioavailability, drug-drug and drug-food interaction, PK/PD, and tQTc studies.

Early Phase Unit
On top of being located in the hospital, our early phase unit (BIO1) has its modern state-of-the-art facilities. It offers:
- Three clinical assessment rooms
- Outpatient/consultant rooms
- Archive
- IMP storage room
- Laboratory samples processing room
- Leisure area for study subjects
- Easy access to hospital’s ICU
- Access to imaging and instrumental tests including CT, MRI, PET scan, ultrasound, endoscopy, biopsy, etc.)
- Centralized laboratory processing

A 500 square meter clinical in-patient area with all the equipment required for Early Development.

The unit consists of 7 wards with 26 beds to house ensure high throughput in patient/volunteer treatment.

Regina Auškalnienė is a Medical Doctor, a cardiologist with over 13 years of experience in Clinical Research gained at one of the world’s largest CROs. Since 2018, she leads Biomapas’ Clinical Research department, overseeing Clinical Monitoring, Project Management, and Start-up activities.
